I woke up vit d usual 'red-sky'....(red-sky is d name of d alarm tone in my mobile:-))....it was half past 7 in d morning(obviously)..i was sleeping (thanks to the beer i had d previous night) in a dorm for the first time..we were in a youth hostel 'LAZY FALCON' in interlaken...
praveen was getting ready and i got up for my 'boring' daily chores..was pretty fast on dat day or elz we wud miss out on our so called 'free breakfast buffet'...
we went down to d reception with bacpacks and smiled at each other on seeing the buffet on the table ;as if it was specially made for us...(actually we reachd there before anyone elz cud!!!)...it wz snowing heavily n we were able to c it thru d window...it was actually praven's first snowfall..but i was acting as if i was pretty much used to it..(but it was my second!!!!!!!!) ..we enjoyed evry bite of our breakfast(not bcoz it was free!!) but bcoz we were really hungry and d sight of snow fallin outside added to our enjoyment...we kept our backpacks in d reception and strtd our journey...
we had to go to intelaken west station to catch a train to interlaken ost...aftr reachin ost station we dint knw how to go further...so we went to d tourist info...yea we also dint knw the name of the place to go actually...then we somehow found out it was SHILTHORN....itz one of d highest peak of swiss alps (around 3000m..a little less than that)...but we had to compromise with the altitude for the SWISS FRANCS....finally we decidd that we will not go to SHILTHORN, but only till MUREN(itz on half the way;around 1700 m)...praveen was trying to console himself by sayin that the visibility in SHILTHORN was really bad...(even though we dint knw about d visibility in MURREN)..datz ver v were going to.
we got d train to a place called launterbrunnen and from there to another place in a bus to get into the cable car...oh i forgot to mention about 5 dozens of potographs we had already taken...we were still not in alps...
newayz fun apart the cable car ride was one of the amazing ride in ma life...it took us to a 1000m high mountain in 10 min...we cud see the size of the cars parked on the the roads reducing evry second...we reachd grimmelwald(around 1000m high)..n then changed our cable car to further up anothr 700m to reach murren...
twz breathtakin...d views from the top..we cudnt c any other colour but white...snow snow and snow evryver....praveen n i startd walkin through the snow filled 'roads' (or vatever they call it!!)..oh i forgot to introduce praveen..praveen is my class mate in IMT..we are roomies here in paris...
i was so exited to c the skaters there, that i planned to rent skating equipments and do a skate boarding or skeeing(skeing!@#$%)...but i changed my plan becoz d rent was very less(he said 80 francs only)...i had 50 francs wit me...dint find any atms there..(dint search for one)...so i took lots of photographs with skeing equipments on me...(he dint charge me anythng 4 dat)...
we went furthr uphill...walking..
i took d one last ciggarete on me..and praveen also wanted to smoke..(he is gonna smoke after 3 long years)...so i cudnt tell him dat i need d whole ciggarete...but we enjoyed that cig 2 d max..one of d few drags i will chrish in my life...after smokin praveen was tellin me that the cig smoke had a sour taste...(probably it had)..but i dint feel it..i was still cherishing my alpsian exitement...
then suddenly came the idea of snow man..n i strtd makin te snowman...initially it dint luk like one..but finally i did it...snowman with blue eyes and nose(we cudnt get red coloured paper)...
and we made him wear praveen's cap...n finally i made him look like smthng called a snowman...
we even got compliments from an old couple who just passed by us(probably dint find any place to celebrate their valentinz day but on top of alps whn the mercury read 8 degrees below zero!!!)
then we thought of starting our descent and moved towards the cable car...we had to wait for 20 min for the cable to cme...we again had another 30 min hault in gimmelwald..so clickd a lot of snaps with snow on me(as well as me on snow..)...as we were not supposed to go out f da station durng d hault, when we came bak our tickt was not workin...but since we came from INDIA, we dint had any problem in jumping the turnstiles!!!...so finally we are on the cable car...n once again wih the breath taking view d cable car startd its descent..in 10 min again we were bak on the ground>>>
we got into the bus...i was listenin to a nice meldious number in my mobile while was enjoyin the beauty of nature outside...dont knw vat praveen did coz he was on the bak seat..probably he wud have also done d same thing...any one wud have been attracted towards dat beauty..impeccable beauty of mother nature!!!!i fell in luv wit d alps...vat a perfect valentines day!!
